BREAKING NEWS: Holidaymakers concerned as illness ruins holidays at the Dreams Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic
·         Illness outbreak at Dreams Punta Cana!
·         Food poisoning suspected  as gastric illness spreads through hotel
·        Claim Compensation for your Dreams Punta Cana Sickness Complaint
·         Rats, Pigeons and Pig hoofs!
UK tour operators face a fresh legal challenge as holiday claims specialists prepare to make compensation claims as a large number of holidaymakers report gastric illness at the Dreams Punta Cana. The illness outbreak at the hotel is a cause for concern particularly when food in the hotel’s World café is reported as being served undercooked.
Our travel lawyers are also concerned that ill holidaymakers may be being offered compensation by their tour operators in resort when they at their lowest ebb. Holidaymakers should be wary of accepting any form of ‘goodwill gesture’ as they may extinguish their rights to claim appropriate compensation.
Ill holidaymakers returning from the Dreams Punta Cana are advised to seek immediate medical treatment from their GP and to obtain legal advice from a qualified lawyer before accepting any form of compensation. Simpson Millar LLP’s travel lawyers say:
“Holiday Companies, hotels, and their insurers are notorious for attempting to buy off compensation claims and often at 10% of what a holiday illness claim is worth. Our qualified travel lawyers offer guidance and advice to sick holidaymakers, and are able to pursue illness claims on a No Win No Fee basis.”
Recent reports on TripAdvisor from holidaymakers staying at the Dreams Punta Cana in July 2013 suggest that the World Café at the hotel has rats and pigeons and that undercooked and raw beef burgers are being served to guests.  A large number of UK holidaymakers have become ill suffering from classic symptoms of food poisoning, i.e. diarrhoea, severe stomach cramps, fever and headaches.
Tour operators have a duty to take reasonable care and skill to ensure that their customers are not ill on holiday. National law firm Simpson Millar LLP has an enviable reputation for successfully claiming compensation for those who suffer from infective gastric illnesses whilst abroad.  Our travel lawyers are all qualified, experienced claimant lawyers, and we know the holiday industry inside out – we know how to win cases and maximise damages!
